4. What does a kiwi fruit taste like? Kiwi fruit taste Sour and sweet

5. Why did they change the name to kiwifruit in 1959? Because of the NZ national bird the kiwi. Which is fury, small and brown

On Thursday the 3rd of December there was a beekeeper named Rose  came into the year 5&6 extension to talk to us about bees. When Rose got here some of the extension started to show up.    

When all of the extension got here we all sat on the floor then Rose started telling us about the bees, There was some people who ask questions for Rose to answer and even Rose asked us some questions for us to answer.

When we were finished the questions and answers then some of us went to see the beehive with bees inside of it!!!

Then she gave out some photos for us to look at some of us were looking for the queen bee in the photos then we kept on passing them around. We learnt about three kinds of bees the queen, worker and a drone bee.

Did you know that a queen bee may lay up to 2,000 bees per day and up to 1,000,000 in her lifetime. The best thing I liked about that lesson was when we got to see the beehive with bees inside of it.

Nyree Survivors

This term our topic is Survivors and we had to create an animation about where animals live and  how they adapt. My animal is a polar bear and he lives in the arctic.

My polar bear has thick fur to keep him warm in the arctic because is really cold there and he has white skin to blend in with the white snow and ice so he doesn't get eaten.

If my animal lived in the desert it would die? I’ll tell you why it would die. My polar bear would die in the desert because he can’t camouflage with the orange sand so he would be seen easily and his feet are to heavy so he will sink into the sand.

To make my animal survive in the desert what would I have to do? I would have to shave his skin off so he doesn't get hot and die and maybe give him some hoofs so he doesn’t sink into the sand.

Do you really think that my animal would survive in the desert? I think that he won’t because he would have to change too much. Anyways I hope you enjoyed my movie. Thanks for watching bye.
