Tea bag experiment

This morning in maths we started of with an experiment, that involved a tea bag and a lighter

The tea bag is like a hot air balloon when Mrs stone sets the teabag on fire the air inside of the teabag starts to heat up and because it is heating up it is starting to rise because heat always rises it pushes against the fabric wall of the teabag and forces the tea bag to rise into the air.Hot air rises because it has more energy than cold air

Accomplishable Algebra

Accomplishable Algebra
We are learning to identify the rule for a pattern of numbers

Multiplication practice:

56 ➗ 8 = 6            72 ➗ 9 =8                44 ➗ 11 =4
45 ➗ 9 =  5            64 ➗ 8 = 8               56 ➗ 7 =8
35 ➗ 5 = 7            144 ➗ 12 =12             27 ➗ 3 =9
82 =  64                     2 =   81                       2 =     49
62 =    36

Finding the rule:

Riveting Revision

Riveting Revision
WALT: revise our learning and apply our skills in a range of concepts

We are revising our previous learning!

5 ^2 =25
√25 =5
√81=9

√64=8

What is 0.15 x 10?1.5
What is 1000 x 10?1000
What is 1 ÷ 10?0.1
What  is 1 ÷ 100?0.01
0.2 ÷ 10 =0.02

How many mm are in a cm?10

How many cm are in a m?0.01

How many g are in a kg?0.001

How many ml are in a L?0.001

145mm + 5 cm =16m

155 mm + 1.5 cm =170ml

1km + 550m=1.55

Metric Lengths

We got to work out the volume of each of these shapes. We also got to write the Centimetre,Metre,Millimetre and Kilometre. Hope you enjoy my work.

Perfect Perimetre

WALT:  calculate the volume of a cuboid
convert between standard units of measurement

I have answered these questions on this presentation to the best of my ability.Hope you enjoy my work .

Equivalent Fractions 2

Today I have posted My equivalent Fractions presentation. In this activity we had to work out how many lollies there were altogether, we also had to chose on of the docs in the pyramid to complete. The doc i completed is in another post. Hope you enjoy.

Equivalent Fractions

Equivalent Fractions!
We are learning to add and subtract fractions with like and unlike denominators.

What is ½ of ¼?1/8

What is ⅓ of ⅕?1/15

What is ½ of 20?10

What is ⅕ of 20?4

What is ⅓ of 30?10

What is ⅘ of 20?16

½ + ½ =1

5/12 + 4/12 =3/4

½ + ¼ =3/4

⅓ + ⅙ =1/2

¼ + ⅛ =3/8

¼ + ⅝ =7/8

¼ + 3/16 =7/16

⅕ + 1/30 =7/30

Levi has ¾ of a bag of lollies. If he is given another 3/12 of a bag, what fraction of a bag will he have?  1 whole

If there were 32 lollies in the whole bag, how many lollies does Levi have? 32

Bob has a 3 3/4 metre of length of wood. He cuts off 2 1/3 metres.
What length of wood is left?  1 5/12

BEDMAS.

BEDMAS
We are learning to solve division problems using proportional adjustments

Timetable practice:
7²    49     8²  64  9²    81   12²     144     6²     36    5²      25    10²  100
  √81  9    √49  7  √81 9  √144  12    √36   6    √121  11

Brackets Exponents Division Multiplication Addition Subtraction

2 3 × (8 + 4 − 10)=46

2 × ( 3 3 − 5 + 8 )=72

( 3 × 2 2 ) ÷ (6 − 4)=64

3 3 × (6 + 2 − 8) =0

( 3 2 − 8 + 2 ) × 4=104

( 9 2 − 8 + 2 ) ÷ 5=17.5

( 3 + 5 2 − 8 ) × 4=  376

( 2 3 + 4 ) ÷ (9 − 6)=9

( 6 − 2 2 + 5 ) × 8=168

( 2 3 + 8 − 4 ) ÷ 3=9
